JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Transport appointed Taxi Recapitalisation South Africa to create and execute
commercial solutions that will enhance the financial sustainability of the minibus taxi industry.
We are looking for a Project Inventory Controller responsible for maintaining records of parts in inventory and on order with various suppliers. It initiates action to replenish stock and monitors reorder points. The controller reconciles discrepancies in inventories and notifies the manager of irregularities. The role reports to the Project Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure accurate and timely ordering and recording of all stock movements, including receiving, picking, packing, and delivery of stock to clients.
- Conduct regular stock checks and reconciliation to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of product handling and packing.
- Optimize warehouse layout, workflows, and processes to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards to create a safe working environment for all employees.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports on stock levels, warehouse performance, and any issues or discrepancies encountered.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
- Address any issues or challenges that arise promptly and effectively, implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12/ Matric Certificate
- Computer data entry experience and proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Minimum of 2 years’ general clerical, stock handling and inventory record-keeping experience
- Previous experience in Stores or Automotive Spare Parts would be advantageous
- Driver’s License Code 10 and PrDP
